rebel kids tea-paint-7Tea towels/furoshiki cloth – gifts for Nana & Abuelita (the grandmothers)rebel kids tea-paint-5We used our square and circular column blocks – with gold and silver fabric paint to stamp on basic white tea towels I ordered on Amazon (of course.)

rebel kids tea-paint-1rebel kids tea-paint-2These kids really enjoy the process of paint. From squeezing the paint out, dipping the blocks, and applying the paint.

rebel kids tea-paint-3rebel kids tea-paint-4rebel kids tea-paint-6I had a vision of stamping perfect little squares and circles only around the edges of the towel. Then, quickly realized how much fun they were having just being free with the paint. rebel kids tea-paint-8I think they turned out lovely.

Theses tea towels can be used for a number of things. I am thinking of using them to wrap  up (furoshiki style) a box of chocolates for Nana, and maybe booze for Abuela 😉

Of course they can be used to dry your hands, wipe counters, serve tea, to line bread baskets, etc, etc. Check out the furoshiki diagram below, and click the link for further wrapping instructions. Here.

When I grow up…

This is the list my daughter recites about what she wants to be when she grows up. She has since added Architect to the list. My husband Tristan made this awesome image for her.

The very first thoughts that came to mind when I woke this morning were, how beautiful is this diverse world.

I am thankful for all the diversity this planet has to offer. My family, friends, and school community celebrate our human differences, and recognize these differences are what makes us special and beautiful. We believe that “ALL LIVES MATTER.”

170882417I am thankful for this solar system and our earth for providing the perfect environment for us humans to grow and thrive. For the beauty of nature, and it’s diversity. I am thankful for California; beaches, forest, desert, lakes, mountains, valleys, snow, sand, and sun.

I could go on and on… but, I will make this brief. Now is the time to get back to my family and friends on this “Thankful” day, of whom I am most thankful for! The amazing people in my life, who bring so much joy to my heart. My babies, who have fulfilled my life in a way I could have never imagined, I cannot help but beam at just a glimpse of their wonderment and growth. My husband, who offers me unending love and dedication. My mom, who is my biggest cheerleader/fan, the best assistant and my best friend. And, the rest of my small family and close group of friends, whom I cherish and feel grateful that they hold me close to their hearts. I am a woman blessed with a life of abundance and love.

Carpool Style + Sleep Depivation

I seriously could not stop yawning while taking these photos, I am perpetually sleep deprived. My boy Nikko is still hit or miss with night time sleep. Some nights (rarely) he sleeps nearly through the night until about 4/5am, then comes to my bed for some extra rest. Other nights – LAST NIGHT! – he makes a ton of noise, talks, fusses, gets in my bed around 11pm, rolls around next to me, kicks me, blanket on, blanket off – for hours and hours on end. I never seem to catch up on my sleep.

Here, I am wearing my “go to” comfort carpool/mama uniform, for dropping off and picking up 2 kids at 2 different locations, marketing, laundry, dishes, and blogging 😉  – old old old kitty cut up sweatshirt and leopard tank, H & M polka dot pull on pants, and super comfy Steve Madden wedge booties.

I hope you had a restful night! Wish me luck tonight…

What’s your “go to” comfort uniform??
