Tangee is an amazing woman I have known for many years. We lost touch for a time while we were both focusing on raising our kids. Her son Andrik is only about 6 months older than my eldest (daughter). We both seem to be emerging from our family cocoon, ready to combine our motherhood with our individuality. I continue to be inspired by her commitment to health, both physical, mental and spiritual, perseverance of strength, calm and conscious parenting, and her rocking rebel style.

Read the full interview and learn more about Tangee,

Name: Tangee Veloso

Describe the “era” of your high school years, that way we don’t need to talk about age.

It was a time where big hair doused in Aquanet was in; where Wet ‘n Wild eyeliner had to be heated up with a lighter in order for it to actually work! Where frosty pink lip gloss and Reebok’s with two pairs of scrunchy socks were so in! It was an era where Mark Wahlberg was still known as Marky Mark and heavy metal was still at the brink of existence before grunge came into the scene. And yes, it was a time where MTV and VH-1 still played music videos! Ah yes! Those were the good ol’ days most definitely!

Q: Married, single, divorced?

A: Separated (soon to be divorced)

Q:How many children do you have? Name(s), age, sex, and school grade? Please give a brief description of you child (children).

A: I have one amazing lil man (who has the energy of 4 and I have witnesses whom agree!)! His name is Andrik Darius Pueblos. He is 5 1/2 years old.

Q: Working, stay at home/homemaker?

A: I am a Jill of all trades. I have my own business (www.thrivenow.arealbreakthrough.com) with an amazing company called Nerium International – with an all natural/botanical paraben-free, non-GMO anti-aging cream, day cream and contouring cream that incredibly works for stretch marks and love handles! I also have a deep passion for my organization, Family Love Village (www.familylovevillage.com) – which is a community of like-minded families who support and educate ourselves on parenting through connection, as well as eco-holistic living. I am also training to be a certified conscious parenting life coach and recently wrote a book called “Taming Your Wild Child: 7 Proven Principles for Raising Connected and Confident Children” which is currently being re-edited and soon will be published.

Q:The kid(s) school/childcare? Nanny, daycare, preschool, public school, private school, homeschooling? Tell us a little about your experience.

A: Currently, I have an amazing nanny, Cindy Avila who practices conscious parenting, as well. I also home school my son with a beautiful, conscious community of other home schoolers. I am truly blessed to be in the City of Angels and to have found my village of conscious families where our children get to grow up and support one another to be the next generation of conscious trailblazers.

Q: How would you describe your parenting style?

A: Through continuous education and a desire to find another way to parent and raise a connected and confident child, I am continuously creating a lifestyle that embraces connection, eco-friendliness, whole body/mind/spirit holistic wellness, as well as a homeschooling (or as I like to call it, life schooling) approach to living. Knowing that the “real world” is not ‘out there somewhere’ but everywhere, especially what we role model at home. I am a firm believer in parenting consciously and learning more tools to harness this form of parenting.

Q: What are some special activities, games, rituals, or traditions you share with your family and child?

A: One special ritual that my son and I do in our home is called Gratitude Share. At every meal, we first send loving energy to our food and give thanks to the animals, the veggies, the farmers, the delivery trucks, the cashiers and every energy that was involved – from farm to table. Then afterwords we do our Gratitude Share where we share what we are grateful for in that moment or for the day.

Q: How would you describe yourself? What is your personal style?

A: I am a soul continuously learning to follow what feels true to me; following my intuition and placing my focus on the ‘Here and Now’. I am a creative, conscious mama who is passionate about what I love to do and more importantly, who I am being when I am doing what I love to do. I am a tatted, pierced, partially shaved headed mama who loves to dance, fire perform, perform spoken word, write and most importantly be true to myself.

Q: How many tattoos? What about body mods (please keep it PG)? Plans for future body art? Any body art regrets or cover ups, or plans for cover up?

A: I have 4 tattoos which covers most of my back. I have one tattoo on the lower back of my neck, another one on the small of my back (otherwise known as the “tramp stamp), one in the middle of my back and one big tattoo that covers most of my back. I wouldn’t necessarily say my whole back is covered in ink completely but all the tattoos blend in very beautifully together and seems like one whole piece. I have a septum piercing and the gauge of my ears are 5/8th’s.

Future plans – yes definite plans to get more tattoos! Now that I no longer breastfeed, I plan to get 3/4 sleeves on both my arms!

Q: What do you do to fulfill your personal needs – outside of the family? Just for mama.

A: To fill up my love cup, I dance, dance and dance!! Now that my ex has my son every other weekend, I now excitedly get the opportunity to go out with my friends more often! For the past 5 years I didn’t have much of a life outside of my family, Family Love Village and work. But I do see the importance of doing things special for myself. So dancing truly fills up my love cup. That and meditation circles, catching up on personal development, performing spoken word and fire performing.

Q: Do you exercise? What/how? How many days/hours a week?

A: Not as often as I would like to. When I had a membership at Yoga Works, I was doing Bar Works and TRX which I absolutely LOVE because it is a total body workout and I loved the feeling and sweating it all off! However, when I dance, I fully sweat it out, as well. I am getting back into fire performing again and that is a good workout too! If I can’t sweat it out any other way, you better believe the fire will get it out of me!

Q: Do you have any creative pursuits or interests?

A: My commitment in creating a supportive forum and a conscious parenting movement through my organization, Family Love Village (FLV) where families can be educated on parenting through connection from the many legendary trailblazers before me, as well as learning about becoming eco-friendly advocates and supporting a more natural, holistic lifestyle is the main focus and passion for FLV.   I am recently getting certified to become a conscious parenting life coach, as well. And by also supporting families to create financial and time freedom to spend more time with their families through my company, Nerium International is another beautiful passion of mine, as well. I am an eco-mamapreneur (as I like to call myself), a performer, and a loving mama to my son.

Q: Do you have any special talents?

A: Spoken word/poetry, dancing (hip hop, jazz, belly dance), and fire performing. I also like to think of bringing people and community together as special talent, too. Oh and I can make a butt out of my tongue! Does that count?!

Q: Top 3 bands/musicians?

1. Depeche Mode

2. Jason Mraz

3. Hmmm I guess I really don’t have a 3rd band or musician but I love me some Breakbeats, Trap, and Jungle (which are all a genre from electronica music).

Q: Top 10 must have/always on hand items; beauty products, clothing, accessories, kids stuff, snacks, tech, gear, creative tools, etc.

1. Nerium AD

2. Lip balm

3. Lipstick

4. Homeopathics: Aconitum Napellus (great for first signs of sickness/flu) and Arnica (for bruises and cuts)

5. Bandaids

6. Toys/books in the car (just in case)

7. Extra pair of socks, underwear, shoes and clothing for my son
